Project: Eco Friend
Summary:
Ever thought how much you contribute to Global Warming when you travel from one place to another?
According to Reports, Global air travel has been responsible for 950 million tonnes of CO2 last year with 4.5 billion passengers. It is going to triple in 2050. Other means of transport like trains and buses produce very less carbon footprint per person as compared to flights and cars. We also want to contribute in reducing carbon footprint.
We want to make people aware of their decision to reduce carbon footprint while traveling. EcoFriend is a platform where you enter your start and end destination and it gives you the top 4 routes of each mode to transport according to carbon footprint. It will show time taken to travel, carbon released per person, etc. It will help people to choose a better mode of transport that will be comfortable and nature friendly.

Paid API because we are currently using public API which is a little bit slow

We are both Computer Engineering Students and Full Stack Web Developers. So we are good on the technical aspects but some guidance will be helpful.
What we lack in is business strategy and product design. It would be very helpful if we could be provided with some help on these points.
Ww are very new to the startup and entrepreneurship world.
We are college students so it’s not possible for us to invest a lot of money in the product at this stage.
For improving on this project, we will need funding for Cloud Storage, VPS and marketing. We will also need funding for hiring engineers to help us.
We will require UI/UX designers to help us make the platform better for the users to handle. We will also need React and NodeJS developers to help us with the front-end and back-end code respectively.
We will need the help of an expert in the domain of Climate Change so we can present more accurate information to the user.

Project Motivation:
My home town is Lucknow, India. It is one of the most air polluted cities in the world. There are more chance of lungs diseases at early age. I want to change this. Carbon footprint of a person is increasing each day & I want people to know they can reduce it by making creating awareness.
