Project: Modern Toolbox with Remote Unlocking for Pickup Trucks
Team Members:
Chandler Abbott, Project Lead
Summary:
This project is a modern toolbox with a remote unlocking functionality for a pickup truck bed that can also be integrated into delivery services.
The pickup truck is the most popular vehicle in rural areas and rural areas have the highest final mile delivery cost. If someone utilized this solution for their truck, they could receive packages when they drove their truck into the city/town for work, shopping, or school, and be able to receive packages sooner and create a more efficient delivery chain than a delivery service driving miles to individual houses.
Sustainable Development Goals:
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Sustainable Cities and Communities
Responsible Consumption and Production
Skills & Resources Needed:
This project lead’s background is in business and creativity (photography, photoshop, design, music), so they would be looking for developers/product designers to bring the backend to life and work towards a prototype.
Post-Capsule Goals:
Incubator Program
University Partnership or Collaboration
Launching Your Own Startup
Entrepreneurial Program
Accelerator Program
Project Motivation:
When the project lead, Chandler Abbott, discovered the Capsule event, they went through their notebook of ideas for something they've thought about that would have the least friction to get off the ground. Ultimately, Abbott would like to revitalize and revolutionize mass transit, but they think this project would be a great step to take entrepreneurial action within the transportation industry.
