Skills & Resources Needed:

This project needs programmers that can develop web scrapers and other tools that would automatically search for pertinent online events.

Project Motivation:

I did a previous version of Energy (and Other) Events in the 1990s and even made some money from it. When I came back to the idea, I decided to do what I do for free. It seems like an obvious idea to me - colleges and universities have public events but the public rarely knows about them. Such events give the public the opportunity to speak directly to those in power that they might see only on television. I know I've done it.

Since the pandemic has made the whole world virtual, it seems logical to me that a global version of my local listing service might be possible. Certainly, an opportunity to attend online talks and lectures on climate and energy and sustainability would give all those who are interested a chance to learn more quickly and develop a community of global practice with the necessary speed.
