Project: Regionalization of Carbon Negative Natural Alternatives to Common Building Materials

Summary:

The problem this project addresses is the use of carbon-positive building materials in construction for both developed and developing countries. Our project identifies local plant life that can be transformed into carbon-negative building materials using our proprietary technology, making it simpler for construction companies to choose material that's better for the economy and the environment. The project is relevant to existing markets because our technology allows us to compete with existing materials on price.

Sustainable Development Goals:

  • No Poverty

  • Decent Work and Economic Growth

  • Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

  • Sustainable Cities and Communities

  • Responsible Consumption and Production

  • Climate Action

  • Life Below Water

  • Life on Land

Skills & Resources Needed:

Subject matter experts on construction regulations in all of our target countries in order to ensure that our material is compliant. We are also pre-funding and bootstrapped, so financial resources to help us scale our proven model are critical over the next six months.

Post-Capsule Goals:

  • University Partnership or Collaboration

  • Private Research Program

  • Entrepreneurial Program

  • Incubator Program

Project Motivation:

We've been working on this for two years and we're ready to take it to the next level. The plastic problem is going to kill us all if we don't address it immediately. There's no stronger motivation!
