Project: Empowering Conservationists
Team Members:
Harry Wright, Project Lead
Summary:
The Conservation Project International (TCPI) is a conservation charity on a mission to support and mentor young conservationists to become future leaders in the conservation sector.
Our planet desperately needs our help, and whilst many young people are passionate about conserving our planet, it is not always easy to find a job in this highly competitive and saturated market. TCPl aims to solve this problem by offering a wide range of opportunities for aspiring conservationists to gain the necessary skills and experience they need to land a job in conservation and help change the world. These opportunities include linking our young conservationists to research projects on the ground, helping them develop their own project ideas, providing networking and mentoring experiences, and holding workshops to broaden skill sets (eg. social media, marketing, policy, and fundraising).
Sustainable Development Goals:
Quality Education
Decent Work and Economic Growth
Reducing Inequality
Climate Action
Life Below Water
Life on Land
Skills & Resources Needed:
Fundraising and attracting new investment
Helping to create a business and fundraising strategy
Helping with our mission proposition, the theory of change and business strategy
Building new partnerships and mentoring support
Post-Capsule Goals:
Launching Your Own Startup
Project Motivation:
I am extremely passionate about breaking down barriers of entry to conservation to people of all economic and social backgrounds. I want to help empower a future generation of conservationists, and support vital research projects around the world. Conservation is still incredibly exclusive and elitist, and we must think of new innovative ways in which we can help empower a new generation of conservationists, and provide them with the tools and expertise they need to find a job in the conservation sector or create their own scalable projects.
